Advocacy & Policy Reform

Advocacy & Policy Reform helps LGBTQIA2S+ people in Tacoma and Pierce County navigate barriers, understand rights, and strengthen community voice in systems that affect daily life.

Community-centered advocacy for LGBTQIA2S+ equity and access

Advocacy is an important part of creating safer, more inclusive communities. Rainbow Center works with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, community partners, and local systems to address barriers related to healthcare, housing, education, employment, public services, and civil rights.

Advocacy and policy support may include:

  • Helping community members understand available resources
  • Connecting people with affirming organizations and services
  • Supporting conversations around equity and inclusion
  • Engaging in policy issues that affect LGBTQIA2S+ communities
  • Sharing information about rights, protections, and community needs
  • Working with partners to strengthen access across Tacoma and Pierce County

Rainbow Center believes lasting change happens when community members are heard, supported, and represented. Through advocacy and policy engagement, we work to advance equity and expand access for LGBTQIA2S+ people throughout the South Puget Sound.
