2026 Pride Awards

Nominate a community volunteer, leader, community-based organization, or business! Nominations are due Tuesday, May 19, by 5:00 pm. The following form is an opportunity for the community to come together to nominate individuals and community-based organizations they feel have served and supported the Tacoma-Pierce County LGBTQIA2S+ community over the last year or for many years.

The Tacoma-Pierce County Pride Awards will be awarded during the Tacoma Pride Kick-Off event on Friday, July 10, beginning at 4:30 pm at the Pantages Theater Lobby.

Award Types

Sapphire Award

Given to a youth for service to the LGBTQIA2S+ youth community of Pierce County. This award is open to youth ages 14-23.

Ruby Award

Given to an individual who is not part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, but whose actions have directly benefited the community. This may be awarded for service in the past year, or for service rendered over an extended period of time.

Emerald Award

Given to a community-based organization or business for service to the LGBTQIA2S+ community of Pierce County, particularly service rendered in the past year.

Pearl Award

Given to an individual who identifies as part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community for service to the LGBTQIA2S+ community of Pierce County, particularly service rendered in the past year.

Diamond Award

This Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual for consistent and exemplary service to the LGBTQIA2S+ community of Pierce County over a lifetime.

Nomination Details

You may nominate multiple individuals or organizations, and you may nominate the same individual for different eligible awards (one nomination per award). Please submit a separate form for each nomination.

Rainbow Center convenes a nomination committee each year to make selections. The nomination committee uses community nominations as a key part of its decision-making; however, it may also consider other factors in making final decisions.
